Key Responsibilities:
Leader of 6 member vision mixer team responsibilities include team member development, performance appraisals, training and rostering.  Contribute to strategic planning and involvement in equipment / software update projects.
Vision mixing duties as required, continuing to be an expert vision mixer operating a wide variety of switchers.
 
Achievements:
-  Foster team spirit amongst the vision mixers resulting in better sharing of information and knowledge between team members, including establishing a team web page.
-  Developed 2 new team members overseeing training plans & performed training sessions.
-  Vision mix both established and new productions, offering input into programme style as required.
-  Demonstrator for Snell and Wilcox Kahuna (Broadcast Asia, SMPTE, BIRTV and private demos).

-  Contributing member of the Micro Design team responsible for the restructure of the Broadcast Services division at TVNZ.

Vision Mixer
- One News 6PM primetime, Breakfast & Evening shows and other live and pre-recorded News and Entertainment studio based productions.
- Outside Broadcast Productions including Australian V8 Supercar motor racing and Wannabe A Popstar –“reality” talent show.
- Vision mixer for productions by external production houses including “Lets Get Inventing” studio segments for Goober Bros, Top of the Pops and speedway for Satellite Media Group.
 
 
Studio Director    
- Backchat - a 90 min arts and issues programme, winner 1998, 99 Best lifestyle show. Qantas Film and  Television Awards. (no longer in production)
- Studio 2 live 30 min children’s show.
- Other productions as required. (Including vision mix / direct)
 
Other Duties    
- Training Vision Mixers.
- Compile Magic DaVE operating instructions for One News.  Based on TVNZ requirements.
- Develop training / procedure and IBMS manuals for Editing section.
 
 
Secondment: Asia Business News, Singapore                 Sept - Dec 1993
- Supervising vision mixer responsible for training, rostering staff and assisting in control room and  studio set up and program format development during Station start up.  
- Operational shifts vision mixing, CCU and graphics operation.  Complied control room operations procedures manual.

Senior Videotape Editor, Vision mixer (since 1989), Studio director (since 1996)
- Editing operating GVG VPE141 edit controller, GVG110 switcher and DPM700, Sony DFS300 edit  controller / switcher and MXF290 audio mixer.
- Vision mixing live and pre-recorded productions operating Grass Valley, Ross and Central Dynamics  switchers in conjunction with ADO, DPM 700 KDE and Questec DVE’s.
- Live multi camera studio directing including pre and post prod work.
- Other duties including staff training and production of training manuals.
- (Until 1989) Telecine operation and colour grading using Rank Cintel Mk3 flying spot chains.  
- Videotape editing duties including transmission and presentation editing, production editing and live to air work using Ampex videotape machines.

TVNZ is New Zealand's largest, free-to-air broadcaster and the nation's television public service broadcaster, operating two channels, TV ONE and TV2. 86% of New Zealanders watch TVNZ each week.
